Type: | Constraint tool |
Primary fire: | Creates a pulley point. |
Secondary fire: | No action |
Notes: | - |
Brief
Creates a pulley system between props and ragdolls using a rope.
Instructions
- Spawn two props/ragdolls
- Shoot the first object
- Shoot a point on the map or some prop to create the first pulley point
- Shoot another point on the map or some prop to create the second pulley point
- Shoot the second object
- Pulley! The two objects will now operate as though a rope is attached to the first object, threaded through the two pulley points, and then attached to the second object (i.e. pulling down on one object will cause the other to move up)
Those are the basics on how the pulley constraint tool works.
Variables
- Force limit
- The amount of force it takes to break the constraint. 0 never breaks.
- Rope width
- Width of the rope. This is a cosmetic setting and has no effect on the behavior of the pulley system.
Useful hints
- Use a pulley to make a counterweight for an elevator so that it doesn't take as much force to move it.
- Create your elevator
- Weld a few heavy props together for the counterweight (try to make it weigh the same as, or a little less than the elevator itself)
- Position the counterweight next to the elevator so that it's at the elevator's highest position when the elevator is at it's lowest (and vice versa)
- Create a pulley between the two.
- Now when you move the elevator it will be as though it weighs as much as the difference between itself and the counterweight.
