Talk:Resource.AddFile
From GMod Wiki
- althought its the lonsome command in the library, it is a extremly important feature for gmod 10, and what i find quite humorus is that there is nothing here! To save some time i'll list the questions that need to be anwsered about this command so other people can use it without doing extensive and unecisary testing which no one has the time to do.
- What is the root folder? is it .../garrysmod/?
- What folders can i load from? must it be from the resource folder?
- Does the client receive these files in the same directory as the server?
- What kind of files can i transfer? .vmf, .mdl, .wav, ect.
Those are some important questions that need to be defined before this page is close to complete, untile then it is deemed a stub and such a title suits it well, im sure garry could anwser all these in a heartbeat i supose he has no "time" for his own mod, maybe he'll find some and fill this out, my guess is no.

- There is probably a good reason why he did that, and he may add additional binds here later on.
- I'm pretty sure that /garrysmod/ is indeed the base folder.
- I've used models/, and materials/, so you can probably use some other ones.
- Yes.
- Ive used .mdl, .phy, .vtx, .vvd, .vmt, and .vtf.
- thanks for the reply helps many out, although i already discovered this by testing it saves some time for those whom do not.

- Where is this file placed, but that I mean where in which folder path should this be placed?
This is listed as shared here and in the function list. Should it be noted as such in here?--Crazy Quebecer 01:14, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
